Silk Farming[edit]
Unlike in 40d and 0.31, giant cave spiders in 23a apparently don't need a path to their target - I built the silk farm I designed for 40d and 0.31 with some minor adjustments (doors instead of floodgates and constructed walls, and chaining the spider in place instead of dropping it from above), and the spider constantly flings webs even when the doors around it are Forbidden. Thus, a variant of the simple silk farm from 0.34 would likely work just fine, though some changes would be required (because you can't construct new fortifications, and there's only one Z-level so you can't drop creatures from above). --Quietust (talk) 01:46, 22 June 2025 (UTC)
